Baguio City, Benguet


Baguio City, Benguet is the Summer Capital of the Philippines. It is located in the northern part of Luzon. From Manila, it will take you 4-5 hours to reach Baguio City by car and 5-6 hours if you’re planning to commute by bus. Both of them are through the expressway.

It is also popular with strawberries. A lot of tourists go to Baguio City to buy strawberries, peanut brittle, lengua de gato and strawberry & rice wines and also don’t forget to try the all-time favorite which can only be purchased in Baguio-strawberry taho (tofu or soy milk).

Modes of transport:

Here in Baguio City, taxies are everywhere but tricycles are not. Tricycle is not allowed to enter Baguio City. So, if you’re used to ride a tricycle, unfortunately, you will really miss it here. Here are the available modes of transport:

  • Jeepney
  • Taxi
  • Bus
  • UV Express

Don’t worry about the safeness of taxi here. The taxi drivers are more honest here than in Manila. Taxi meters are apparent and you can even watch them closely while it’s running every tick of the clock.
